the “writing room” is dedicated to the creation and development of original musical material - whether for/with other artists, film, advertising, or other types of collaborative projects

our work here might lean towards alternative indie-folk music, acoustic, cinematic and orchestral arrangements, lo-fi and mid-fi aesthetics, but it’s not limited to that - our focus is less on genre and more on finding and crafting the right musical language for the story being told

the songwriting process is centred around writing and refining the essential elements of a song — melody, lyrics, structure, harmony, and overall emotional direction. the goal is to find the strongest possible version of the idea before any production decisions come into play

most of Diogo’s writing has been done for the indie-folk project “himalion”, but it hasn’t been limited to it. you might be looking for a full or song, or you might only need some songwriting accountability and in that case, we are here to serve as a human white board. at PGS we are also open to write lyrics, hooks and toplines for producers, instrumentals and arrangements

we have the structure to work closely with directors, agencies and other visual media creators to develop music that’s tailored specifically to the needs of your project - whether that’s just an intimate acoustic cue, an ambient soundscape, a lo-fi instrumental or a fully developed score

in our toolbelt we have several cinematic libraries from developers like Spitfire Audio, Native Instruments, Arturia, and so on, but we often times do prefer to move some air, and due to our network of musicians, we have access to all kinds of instrumentation and musicians - head over to LAYERS to find more

talking money in a creative environment can be weird at times. we understand first-hand that ideas shift and projects take on unexpected directions. so at PGS we aim to establish a healthy and transparent structure early on, allowing the creative process to flow freely afterwards

every writing and composing project is estimated individually and it is dependent on the development stage of the idea, recording needs, complexity of arrangement, timeline and collaborators involved - all of these elements are discussed before any real work begins

as a song develops and a project evolves it’s completely normal that ideas expand or shift direction. small revisions and refinements are always part of the process and we’re here for it. projects involving major arrangement rewrites, extensive re-recording sessions or any other larger significant production changes may require adjustments to the original estimate - this is always discussed beforehand with the other person

to secure studio time, project scheduling, and preparation work, a non-refundable deposit is required once the project scope and budget have been agreed upon

we also understand that every artist and project exists within different financial realities, and we are always open to discuss approaches that make sense for the project and the artists behind them
